Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Anthropology Unit, Sociology Department invites applications for an appointment at the assistant professor level in socio-cultural anthropology who can contribute to the consolidation of this unit -to begin May 2011 (August 2011 at most).
Area of specialization is open. Geographic Area of specialization is also open, but South America, Mesoamerica and North America are desirable. We particularly seek candidates whose work demonstrates a continuing commitment to ethnographic fieldwork, and potential to maintain a successful publishing career. Dedication and ability to teach undergraduate and graduate level (2 to 3 courses a year in a semester system) is required. The successful candidate will have a PhD at the time of appointment. Fluency in Spanish is essential. Salary is competitive.
